Investment management

The importance of continuity of client care from pre to post settlement is paramount in order to minimise the stress that occurs once the award has been made.

The investment of an award of damages presents many challenges and requires a specialist approach. In most cases there is a need to sustain the capital over a significant period of time. Some cases can be extremely difficult, for example the award may have been compromised or, in cases involving children, substantial changes in the future provision of care and living arrangements take place over time. It is vital the investment strategy has the flexibility to meet each client’s individual requirements.

The wrong investment strategy can have serious consequences. Whilst it is necessary to avoid undue risk, an approach that is too conservative will not provide sufficient return over the long term and the capital may be exhausted within the client’s lifetime.

Once the investment objectives are in place we implement a tried and tested investment strategy.

A financial modeling and analysis system is applied to screen and match the performance of funds for each portfolio, along with strict risk control procedures.

Through continual monitoring and review, recommendations are made as and when changes are required in order to achieve the agreed objectives.

We believe in today's uncertain financial markets it is important to meet clients regularly to provide relevant and clear information. This helps to reassure clients and their families that their portfolios are being actively managed in order to meet their changing needs.
